Danny Wilcox Frazier's photographic insight on Iowan ethos gets a big boost from Mediastorm's signature producing. Together they capture small-town, Middle American culture—and pause it long enough for us to take note.
The six-part documentary highlights families living on a patch of land that time may forget, a new generation’s desire to leave that land behind, and migrants using that land as opportunity for the future. On a broader level, the story feels like a microcosm of globalization, a transient landscape gravitating towards metropolis. And that makes it one powerful story.
