Many of Luke Gilford's projects are so visually vivid and homogeneously devouring that when looking through one set to the next, I tend to mash them up: swirling them together, as if I am a fork running in circles on a plate without dividers.

But, to me, "The Space Between Us" is the one project that stands out and stands alone. Maybe it's the title that gives us a super solidifying clue, one that we can have fun looking for in each photo. Body parts press, touch, and overlap in each frame, or sometimes they don't at all. But like magnets of same forces, the energy in the space between still oozes from the trying and the resistance.
